Dimitrov Confirms Agassi Partnership

Grigor Dimitrov hopes his spell working with Andre Agassi proves to be more than just a short-term relationship. The Bulgarian started working with the American ahead of this week’s Paris Masters and, despite a third-round exit at the hands of Marin Cilic, the world number 10 was pleased with how they gelled.

Agassi is coaching Dimitrov alongside his regular mentor, Dani Vallverdu, who initially suggested the pair get together.

The 27-year-old says he is thrilled to get the chance to work alongside a legend of the sport and is hopeful they can continue their relationship into 2019.

“He’s amazing,” Dimitrov told reporters. “I couldn’t think of a better guy, sharing thoughts, feelings, emotions, on and off the court. “He’s one of the only people that I feel I can really relate to and open up to.

“Hopefully, I can travel with Andre a bit more next year and for sure we’re going to try to spend a lot more time together in the upcoming weeks and months.”
