Novak Djokovic has qualified for the finals of the Wimbledon tournament, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Djokovic reached the finals of the Wimbledon tournament for the first time since 2016 defeating Rafael Nadal in a five-set tussle 6-4 3-6 7-6 3-6 10-8 in a five set battle at the Centre Court classic.
It is the fifth Wimbledon final for Djokovic.
Three-time champion,Djokovic will face Kevin Anderson in Sunday’s final.
Djokovic admitted that was glad to overcome the Nadal challenge adding that it wasn’t easy.
“If you can call it sleep! When you finish at 11pm and you have to come back to the practice court for 10.30am,”Djokovic told the BBC after his triumph.
“The adrenaline, it’s not easy to relax ad calm down. It was a late night, early morning. I am so glad to overcome this challenge.”
On facing Kevin Anderson in the final, he said: “Hopefully we can both play! It’s been a roller-coaster for him in the last couple of rounds, but he had a day off and that means a lot. I wish I had one.
