Strong indications have surfaced that the contentious first leg of the CAF confederation Cup match between hosts, Club Africain of Tunisia and Dolphins may be replayed on Friday.
Club Africain had walked over their Nigeria counterparts who claimed they were delayed for two hours at the Tunis airport after arriving the North African country late for the game.
But following strong worded protest by Dolphins through the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to CAF, the continental soccer governing body ordered Dolphins to remain in Tunis while it looks into their petition.
On Wednesday, the Inter-Clubs Committee of CAF met in airo, Egypt but even as details of the outcome of their meeting has not been made public, feelers from Tunis indicate both teams may file out onto the pitch on Friday.
“From the look of things, we may replay the match on Friday”, informs Dolphins spokesman, China Acheru when Complete Sports called him up.
“The Inter-Club committee of CAF met by 12noon but details have not been communicated to us.
“But the media here in Tunisia has been awash with reports that the game will be up for replay on Friday.
“Radio stations here in Tunisia have been making the announcement that Friday will be date for a replay of the match”, Acheru informed.
