Ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper Dosu Joseph has hailed the performance of the Falconets at the recently concluded 2015 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada despite not winning the trophy.
The Nigerian girls lost 1-0 to Germany in the final of the tournament played in Canada to miss the trophy but Dosu believes the girls gave their best in the developmental tournament.
Although the Falconets had more of the possession, the Germans held on to win the game for what would be their second time in history winning the tournament.
The Atlanta ’96 Olympic gold medalist has however advised the players not to see themselves as failure but encourage one another and work harder for future assignment.
‘’They (Falconets) did very well overall in the tournament but they were just unlucky to have lost the final”, says Dosu.
‘’I think players like Sunday, Dike and Oshoala deserved Super Falcons invitation and I am sure they will make good impact in the team.
Meanwhile, Dosu has also urged the Federal Government to reward the girls abundantly and appreciate having made a good name for the country through football.
