–Siasia says: ‘I am not sure of training tour yet”
National U-23 Eagles coach Samson Siasia has told Complete Sports that his players will return to camp on May 25 to begin preparation for the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo.
The former Super Eagles coach who spoke to Complete Sports on Sunday said he has been busy monitoring the players that will be called to camp for preparation and was also quick to inform that the players that will be invited may not be different from the players that played the qualifiers.
“We are proposing May 25 for the players to return to camp and I have been doing my best to monitor the players. We decided to give them break so that they can rest after all we went through to qualify for the All Africa Games”, says the dark complexioned coach.
“The players we are going to invite may not be different from the players that played the qualifiers though we are going to see the areas we need to improve on and we will bring in the players that can be perfect for such areas.
Siasia who was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States of America also informed that he was not sure if the team will embark on training tour ahead of the All Africa Games due to fund but promised to push his proposal to the Nigeria Football Federation.
“Going on a training tour ahead a major competition like the All Africa Games will be perfect for the team but we are looking at the possibility for now. While we look at the financial implication, that will still not stop us from presenting a proposal to the FA.
It would be recalled that the National U-23 Eagles defeated Zambia 2-1 in Lusaka in their last qualifying game to qualify for the All Africa Games billed to hold in Congo later in the year.
