Ivoirien football legend Didier Drogba has stated that African countries still have a lot of work to do in order to put up better performances at the FIFA World Cup.
Africa’s only hope at this year’s FIFA World Cup Senegal, were also eliminated following their 1-0 defeat to Colombia on Thursday.
The West African country had the same number of goals and points as Japan but went out on the fair play rule.
Their ouster means all five African representatives at the 2018 World Cup all failed to advance from the group stage.
Drogba, who appeared at three World Cups with Ivory Coast (2006, 2010, 2014), said:”Africa is going to be successful one day but we need to think again how we approach these big competitions,” he told the BBC where he is working as a television pundit.
He also called for better structures and planning to help African teams at future competitions and urged them to emulate European sides.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
