D'Tigress coach Scot Nnaji has admitted that Savannah State point guard Ezinne Kalu saved the team from exiting the 2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Kalu's last-gasp three-pointer gave Nnaji's Nigeria side their first win, a 70-69 victory over Korea on Tuesday, and a chance in the competition in Group C after their opening defeat to Belarus on Monday.
Nnaji who was shocked at the performance of the Korean side also praised coach Sungwoo We's side for their style of play during the game.
"It was a tough game for us because our lives depended on it," Nnaji said in his post-match conference monitored on FIBA.com's YouTube channel.
"We needed to win to remain in the champioship and having talked about it overnight, the players came out to play.
"The Korean team gave us a good fight and we didn't believe what they did but Ezinne delivered us."Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
