Nigeria's D’Tigress head coach Sam Vincent has finally pruned the number of players in the team's Florida, United States of America camp from 15 to six as they prepare for the final phase of camping in Nigeria ahead of the 2017 Women's Afrobasket Championship in Mali, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The tournament will be held from August 18 to August 27.
According to a media release made available to Completesportsnigeria.com, the players picked for the final phase of camping in Lagos are Ndidi Madu, Adaeze Alaeze, Aisha Mohammed, Ezinne Kalu, Cecelia Okoye and Ugo Nwaigwe.
The team which is expected to touch down in Nigeria aboard Delta Airlines at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos on Saturday will team up with the rest of the home-based squad preparing for the championship.
Completesportsnigeria.com gathered from a top official that the team will play three friendlies at the Indoor Sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos before their departure for Bamako, Mali on August 16.
The Nigerian would are in Group B with Mozambique, Congo, Egypt, Guinea and Senegal.
