Nigeria’s D’Tigress team will arrive in Lagos in batches before intensifying preparation for the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain, Completesportsnigeroa.com reports.
The 2018 FIBA Women World Cup in Spain will hold from September 22 to 30.
According to a media statement from the Nigerian Basketball Federation, the first batch of the D’Tigress squad are expected in Lagos on Thursday (today) evening aboard a Turkish Airline flight from Atlanta.
The first batch of players who will be led by Coach Ujoh Alexander and will include Evelyn Akhator, Cecilia Okoye, Jasmine Nwapei, Dominic Wilson and Sarah Ogoke.
The second batch of players led by Coach Otis Hughley comprises of Aisha Mohammed, Ezinne Kalu, Atonye Nyingifa, Elo Edeferioka, Imovbioh Sarah Promise Amukamara, Nkem Akaraiwe, Nkechi Akashili and Uju Ugoka.
The team will hold their first training session at the Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos on Saturday.
Team Captain, Adaora Elonu who was recently signed by WNBA side, Atlanta Dreams, will join the squad later.
