By Bamidele Boluwaji:

Nigeria Basketball Federation's board member retired Colonel Sam Ahmedu has told Completesportsnigeria.com that the senior national women's basketball team, D'Tigress, will depart the country on August 16 for Bamako,  Mali where they will feature in the 2017 Afrobasket for Women.

The tournament will dunk off on August 18.

"The arrangement on the ground now is for the team to travel to Bamako,  Mali on August 16 and all necessary arrangements have been made for both the players and the coaches,"  Ahmedu said.

Ahmedu further told Completesportsnigeria.com that the team will on Thursday evening play Raptors Basketball Club again in another friendly game.

D'Tigress lost 71-55 to the same team in Wednesday's tunezup game.

"It was good that the team lost the test game because it will help the coaches to know the area they still need to improve on. And more so, it is better for them to lose now here than losing in Mali," he said.
