Dummett Refusing To Panic

Newcastle defender Paul Dummett insists he is not worried about their fortunes as the squad remain “together”. The Magpies are struggling in the Premier League and rumours continue to link boss Rafa Benitez with the exit door.

The Spaniard failed to get the investment he wanted in the summer and Newcastle have endured a miserable start to the season.

They remain rock bottom of the league after their 1-0 loss to Brighton when they became only the fourth side in top flight history to lose their opening five home games.

Their current sun is their worst start to a campaign in 120 years but Dummett insists the team spirit is still strong.
He told NUFC TV: “At any point of the season, when we’re near the bottom of the league you need everybody pulling in the right direction.

“We need all the fans, staff and players working in the right direction to make sure we got the results we need because if we’re not all sticking together then that’s when it becomes a problem.

“We have to carry on going, stick together, work hard in training and when it comes to the next game, get the three points.”
