The Super Eagles will be making a bit of World Cup history on 21 June in Cuiaba when they face Bosnia Herzegovina in their second Group F Brazil 2014 match.
The match, which will be significant for the two sides as they either seek to seal qualification for the second round or stay in the competition after their first games, will also be important as it is a milestone FIFA World Cup match.
The game, Bosnia’s second ever in the World Cup, will be the 800th in the history of the world’s topmost single-sport event since it started in Uruguay in 1930.
Nigeria have been involved in World Cup milestones before. The Eagles were at the receiving end of the 1,000th World Cup goal in 1994.
Claudio Caniggia’s equalizer in the group match, which the South Americans won 2-1, was the 1,000th World Cup goal.
