—To Resume Training Monday
By Bamidele Boluwaji:
The Super Eagles arrived in Kaduna on Sunday ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad after travelling from Abuja where they have been training for days.
The media officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye, who spoke with completesportsnigeria.com said the team trained on Sunday morning in Abuja before embarking on the trip to Kaduna for the match.
“The team arrived in Kaduna this evening (Sunday) and settled down immediately to commence their preparation for the match,” Ibitoye said.
Having missed out from the 2015 edition of the African showpiece, the 2013 champions will be looking forward to nothing short of victory in the match before playing Tanzania and Egypt, the other teams in their qualifying group.
Coach Stephen Keshi said the players could not train Sunday night in Kaduna due to the long journey from Abuja but will resume full training on Monday ahead of the match.
“We had to rest, it has been a long journey from Abuja and by tomorrow, we will commence training," he told completesportsnigeria.com.
