Eagles Striker Eduok Scores Six Goals In Single Game

–Emem Eduok topples Mfom Udoh in Top Scorer’s race

Dolphins of Port Harcourt striker and Super Eagles fringe forward, Emem Eduok is now the leading scorer in the 2013/2014 Glo Premier League.

Eduok who was invited to Super Eagles squad as replacement for Victor Moses in the 2-3 loss to Congo in Calabar last month shattered all scoring record when he scored six goals in Dolphins 7-0 demolition of relegation bound Nembe City at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

The six goals took his total haul to 19, one more than Enyimba of Aba marksman, Mfom Udoh who now sits second on the scorers chart with 18 goals after scoring the winner against El-Kanemi of Maiduguri.

Eduok went into Wednesday’s tie on 13 goals and never looked like posing any threat for Udoh who had only Osaguona Ighodaro of Rangers and Gbolahan Salami as contestants.

But Sharks Christian Pyagbara’s four goals against Sunshine Stars over the weekend appeared to balance the scoring equation before Eduok emerged from nowhere to hit six past Nembe City goalkeeper

How I wish I could see a replay of this match on TV. It is good to see the quality of the goals and the stuff the opposing defenders and goalkeeper are made of.

Nigerian league will be great if the authorities can improve on security at match venues to give our referees confidence of security of their lives. if this is done we would see better officiating where home teams could lose scandalously.
