As part of preparations towards the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the Golden Eaglets defeated Calabar-based Villa View Hotels FC 5-2 on Wednesday.
The game, which is the team’s 44th domestic game so far, took place inside the Karkanda Stadium in Katsina.
Eaglets captain, Kelechi Nwakali, and Victor Osimhen had a brace while Orji Okonkwo scored a goal.
Villa View’s goals were scored by Victor Udoh and Efenile James.
Reacting after the game, Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, said it was not yet uhuru for the 35 players battling to make the final list of 21 players for the U-17 World Cup.
He added that the team still need more top friendly matches to ascertain their readiness for the task ahead.
Goalkeeper trainer of the team, Emeka Amadi, who happens to be celebrating his 43rd birthday, hailed the players for a good performance.
“I am really happy with the performance of our boys and for giving me a good birthday present,” he told nff.com.
