ADO Den Haag had won two and drawn three of their last five league matches before the game against Sparta Rotterdam.
Erik Falkenburg gave ADO Den Haag a sixth minute lead before goals from Michiel Kramer (62nd minute) and Robert Muehren (83rd minute) secured the comeback win for Sparta.
