Ebuehi To Undergo Surgery For Cruciate Ligament Injury

Portuguese club, Benfica, have announced that their Nigerian defender, Tyronne Ebuehi will undergo surgery  in the next few days following a cruciate ligament injury, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.

“The athlete Tyronne suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and will undergo surgical intervention in the next few days,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

Ebuehi,22,  is now  expected to spend several months on the sidelines following the injury.

The player recently expressed his desire to fight for a regular playing spot in the team and injury may have put paid to his ambition.

Ebuehi, 22, linked up with Benfica in May following the expiration of his contract with Dutch club, ADO Den Haag.

The right-back only resumed pre-season training  with his new teammates few weeks ago after he was granted an extended break after representing Nigeria at the  2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He featured in only one game for the Super Eagles at the mundial.
