Super Eagles left back Elderson Echiejile is confident of challenging for a regular place in Monaco in the forthcoming season despite playing second fiddle to French star Lavyin Kurzawa last term.
The 27 year old who played 21 games in all competitions for Monaco last term is eager to get more playing time with the last season UEFA Champions league quarter-finalists.
Currently in Poland for one week pre-season training with Monaco, Echiejile told Completesportsnigeria.com he believed a good showing with the Leonard Jardim's side will improve his chances.
"Monaco is a big team and having to compete with a top class players is the competitiveness that comes with you representing such team," he said during an exclusive chat with Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Monaco squad will return from Poland on Sunday and thereafter fly out to Italy for another week of pre-season training.
Monaco finished third in the French Ligue 1 last season behind champions PSG and Lyon and will feature in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League in the forthcoming campaign.
