Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile is delighted to be back in action for AS Monaco after missing his side’s last three games.
Echiejile played his first Coupe de France game on Sunday for Monaco who dumped Nimes out of the competition with a 2-0 win at the at the Stade des Costières.
“We started the new year on a winning note. Good to be back playing again.” Echiejile tweeted.
He has scored once in seven Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco who sit fifth with 32 points from 19 games.
Recall that the 26 year old defender is one of the two Nigerians left in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
In what could be seen as a largely fair draw for the former Sc Braga star, Monaco have been drawn to face EPL giants Arsenal while John Mikel Obi’s Chelsea have a date with PSG as they target to go beyond the Round of 16.
