–Eagles star plays down first Monaco goal

Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile has revealed that he would have been happier with the win despite opening his goal account for AS Monaco in Friday’s 1-1 draw away to Reims.
The former SC Braga defender who scored his first goal for Monaco in as many games for Monaco however urged his teammates to go all out for a win in Tuesday’s Champions League game away to Benfica in Lisbon.
“For me personally, it’s good to have played two games and got on the scoresheet,” he began.
“I need to keep working hard and do even better. It was my first goal for Monaco, but I would have been happier with the win.”
The Nigerian international who has been included in the Eagles 25 man squad for the must-win 2015 Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Red Devils of Congo and Bafana Bafana of South Africa stated assured that the Eagles will win in Pointe Noire.
“We have no choice but to win in Congo,” he told Complete Sports.
“It’s the game of our lives and I believes we all are ready for it,” he concluded.
