Standard Liege defender, Elderson Echiejile has revealed that he is gradually adapting to the Belgian Pro League division and his team's system after making his fifth start for the club in the League in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Genk, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 28 year old sparingly featured for the club when he joined in the summer, but has since displaced Zamir Marmolej at left-back featuring in the team's last nine games in all competitions
Echiejile who joined his Serbian coach Aleksandar Janković for the pre-match conference ahead of Wednesday's fixture against Lokoren, Tuesday afternoon rated the Belgian top flight division as a competitive league.
"The level of the Jupiler Pro League is high. This is a very competitive League in Europe," Echiejile said during his club's press conference.
"I needed time to adapt to the system and my new teammates.
"I arrived in a team with a lot of quality."
The Nigerian left-back is expected to make his sixth start for Standard Liege who are currently placed eighth in the log with 29 points from 18 games
