Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile was shown a straight red card in AS Monaco’s 4-1 away loss to Lille in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Vincent Enyeama was in goal for Lille as Echiejile was sent off in the 65th minute of the encounter.
In the Italian Serie A, Ogenyi Onazi had a rare start for Lazio who defeated Palermo 3-0 away.
Onazi featured for 90 minutes in the game.
Still in the Serie A, Joel Obi made an appearance for Torino in their 2-1 home win against Atalanta.
Obi was later replaced by Daniele Basselli in the 57th minute.
Nigerian youngster Chidozie Awaziem, 19, was in action for FC Porto who lost 1-0 away to Pacos de Ferreira in the Portuguese Primera Liga.
Awaziem, who was yellow-carded on 23 minutes, was to later make way for Andre Silva with 14 minutes remaining in the game.
The game was Awaziem’s seventh of the campaign for Porto.
Also in Portugal, Super Eagles right-back Abdullahi Shehu featured for Uniao de Madeira in their 1-0 away loss to Tondela.
Shehu played throughout the duration of the match.
In Greece, Abduljeleel Ajagun played in Levadiakos’ 2-0 away defeat to Paok Thessaloniki.
Ajagun was later substituted for Christos Mingas with five minutes left.
Former West Brom forward Brown Ideye was an unused substitute for Olympiakos who beat Panaitolikos 5-2 away from home.
Ideye’s Olympiakos have already been crowned champions of the Greek league.
And in Belgium, Michael Olaitan made an 86th minute entrance for Athanassios Papazoglou in Kortrijk’s 1-1 away draw against Standard Liege in the play-offs.
