After captaining the Super Eagles to defeat Togo 3-0 in Thursday's friendly in Paris, France, Elderson Echiejile believes there is still room for improvement, although he is confident the team will continue to get good results, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Super Eagles will host South Africa in Uyo on 10 June in an Africa Cup of Nations qualify.

The 29-year-old who did not travel with the rest of the squad to Nigeria on Friday in order to have his wedding in France, is confident the team will banish the failure to qualify for AFCON 2015 with a resounding victory in Uyo.

"I was an unused substitute in that game in 2014 when we drew 2-2 against South Africa in Uyo and it was painful that we could not qualify for AFCON," Echiejile told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"But now the boys are in great shape and we are ready for the game. We are in good spirits ahead of the game, we won't lose focus."

Echiejile is expected to join up with the squad in Uyo for the game after his wedding next Monday.
