AS Monaco defender Elderson Echiejile has urged his teammates to show bravery when they take on Egypt in Alexandra in Tuesday’s reverse 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The 28-year-old defender, who could be deployed in central defence to partner Godfrey Oboabona, told Completesportsnigeria.com the game is win or bust for the Eagles.
“We have to give ourselves a chance of making it to the Nations Cup in Gabon by winning at all costs in Egypt,” Echiejile told Completesportsnigeria.com before the team’s departure to Alexandra on Monday.
The Eagles are two points adrift Egypt and must beat their hosts who have four points from two games to brighten their chances of making it to Gabon.
“We must challenge them in all duels and take our chances when they come because that’s the only way to get victory,” Echiejile added.
“The team cannot afford to miss another AFCON.”
On arrival in Alexandra, the Super Eagles will have a light walkout before having a feel of the turf for Tuesday’s cracker.
