Edmund To Represent Europe In Laver Cup

British number one Kyle Edmund has been included in Team Europe’s squad for this year’s Laver Cup. The world number 16 has been named in the six-man team that will compete against Team World over three days at Chicago’s United Center between September 21 and 23.

Edmund has been included in the Team Europe squad alongside former world number ones Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, as well as Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov and David Goffin, while 11-time major winner Bjorn Borg will captain the team.
Team World will be captained by Borg’s former adversary John McEnroe, with Juan Martin del Potro, Diego Schwartzman, John Isner, Jack Sock, Kevin Anderson and Nick Kyrgios forming part of his team.

This is the second year of the Laver Cup and it was Team Europe that prevailed in the inaugural event 12 months ago.
The tournament takes on a unique feel as it features nine singles matches and three doubles contests over the course of the three days, with one point being awarded for victories on day one, two for wins on day two and three for victories on the final day.
