Liverpool boss has hinted that Philippe Coutinho could make a return to the Reds' first team in the English Football League Cup semifinal first leg against Southampton on Wednesday after a long injury layoff.
Coutinho's last game for Liverpool was in November 2016 against Sunderland where he sustained an ankle injury.
Speaking at Monday's pre-match press conference ahead of the League Cup clash against Southampton, Klopp said: “I think Phil (Coutinho) is fit enough to be part of the squad. That could be minutes. It depends on the game.
"It was six or seven weeks (Coutinho's absence) that’s long.
“He needs minutes in training and as soon as possible minutes in games. No final decision.
“He’s had his third complete session with the team, tomorrow the fourth.”
Klopp went on to reveal the latest injury news concerning James Miller and Jordan Henderson.
"Milly (Milner) no issues anymore. Hendo (Henderson) on a very good way, he’s really mentally strong. It’s still painful, but he’s doing well," he added.
“We’ll see what we can do with him. Hopefully Thursday he’ll be in team training.”
Klopp went on to play down talk about a potential Liverpool vs Manchester United League Cup final.
"I know everyone is thinking Liverpool v Manchester (United) would be a nice final but there is still a tie to play.
“Hopefully not Hull vs. Southampton!”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
