By Nurudeen Obalola:
Nigerian forward Chisom Egbuchulam is delighted to have signed with Swedish top flight club BK Hacken, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Egbuchulam on Tuesday signed a contract till December 2017 with Hacken initially on loan from Nigerian champions Enugu Rangers, few days after telling Completespprtsnigeria.com he was on the verge of a move to Sweden.
“New Challenge. Thank God for your grace##BK HACKEN,” Egbuchulam tweeted on Tuesday, with a photo of himself in a Hacken shirt.
He however added a cryptic message, alluding to his ‘real age’.
“Thanks to God for making it possible for me to sign my first European contract with my real age and Thanks to my Family,Friends and Fans…” Uchegbulam wrote.
The forward’s profile has him at 25 years of age, having been born on 22 February, 1992.
He was instrumental in Rangers’ first Nigeria Professional Football League title in 32 years last season, forming a ruthless front four with Bobby Clement, Godwin Aguda and Obinna Nwodo as the Antelopes flew to the historic title.
Egbuchulam was close to a move to Tunisia but that fell through before the Sweden opportunity came along.
A statement on the Hacken’s official website confirmed the move. It said:”BK Hacken have cleared Nigerian Chisom Egbuchulam. The winger, who turned 25 last week, joined on loan from Enugu Rangers with an option of three years.”
Egbuchulam also spoke to the club’s official website. He said: “I am very happy to be here.
“BK Hacken is a good club with good conditions and I have received a lot of love from everyone at the club since I arrived. The players have welcomed me to the family and I look forward to working hard with them.
“I am a fast player who can play on either wing or centrally in the attack, good with the ball and have a good shot. I’ve come here to win titles – I want to score goals and help my team.”
BK Hacken Sporting Director Sonny Karlsson said: “Based on what we have seen and what we have understood by those we had contact with, Chisom can be really, really good for us. But since we have not seen him on the spot itself, we have chosen to go for a loan with an option to extend the deal for a further three years.”
BK Hacken finished 10th in the Swedish top flight last season which ended in November 2016.
They will kick off the new season which starts in April with an away game against AIK.
