Eguavoen, Green Sympathise With Siasia Over Abducted Mother

By Bamidele Boluwaji:

Former Super Eagles Coach Austin Eguavoen and Nigeria Football Federation's board member, Chris Green have sympathised with the National U-23 Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia, whose mother was abducted by kidnappers Monday night in his home village in Bayelsa State.

It was reported Tuesday morning that Siasia's 72-year old mother, Mrs Ogere Siasia, was abducted in Odoni village of Bayelsa State by three men on a motorbike who shot severally into the air before whisking away the old woman.

Reacting on the abduction, Eguavoen pleaded to the abductors to have mercy on the old woman and release her immediately.

"I can only join other Nigerians to plead to these people to please free the old woman, they should pity her and also try to appreciate what the son is doing for the country," Eguavoen pleaded.

Nigeria Football Federation's board member, Chris Green who was not happy with the development mostly at the time the son is busy giving the country good image outside the country, also made a passionate appeal to the abductors.

Green begged the abductors to allow the old woman regain her freedom as soon as possible.

"It is very disappointing that something like this is happening in our country, and the only thing I can say is to appeal to the abductors to please release this old woman. At this age, I don’t think this woman should be troubled or allowed to go through this kind of experience. We are appealing to them to please release this woman," Green supplicated.

Meanwhile, Samson Siasia who is presently in The Gambia with the U-23 Eagles, preparing for the CAF U-23 Nations Cup in Senegal, has also appealed to the abductors to release his mother so that he can concentrate on the his national assignment.
