Rivers United Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma says his side will challenge for more honours in the new season with a stronger team morale following their successful NPFL Super-4 tournament campaign, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Pride of Rivers beat Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enugu Rangers to the title after edging Wikki Tourists 1-0 on the final day of the campaign.
Eguma's aside from the league, will also seek honours in the CAF Champions League and the Federation Cup next season.
The former Enyimba assistant coach believes that his side has made a big statement ahead of the new campaign.
"It's good to win a tough competition like the Super-Four as it gives us confidence going into the new season," Eguma told Completesportsnigeria.com after the game.
"We will be playing in three competitions this season and playing in the Super-Four has been a good test for us.
"Though we are still working hard to put the team in proper shape ahead of the new season, but winning here (Super-4) will surely boost our confidence.
"We missed out on winning the NPFL title last season, and it will be great to win it next season. There is also the CAF Champions League and the Federation Cup.
"I'm certain we will do well this season. The boys are adapting well every day, both physically and mentally."
