Nigerian international Azubuike Egwuekwe has flown into London to finalise a move to West Ham, as Sam Allardyce looks to bring him to the club to bolster his ranks, according to reports in talkSPORT.
Egwuekwe plays for Warri Wolves and has been there since 2008, after previously playing for Nasarawa United and Yerima Strikers.
The centre-back is currently at the African Nations Cup with his country and West Ham have been keeping tabs on his development, as Allardyce looks to bolster his back-line ahead of the gruelling final few months of the season.
Egwuekwe is in talks over a £4 million move to east London, according to Nigerian website SL10.ng, as Allardyce looks to compensate for the potential loss of star man Winston Reid.
The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and he is expected to leave the club in the summer, with Arsenal waiting in line to snap up the Hammers’ vital defender. (Mirror)
Reid signed a new two-year contract in April 2013, after joining the club in 2010 from Danish side FC Midtjylland and he has become a big hit at Upton Park, with the defender excelling under Allardyce.
The Hammers have had a brilliant season so far and are on course for a comfortable top eight finish.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
