Egwuekwe Out Of Wolves Dedebit Tie

–Odah, Okafor also miss trip over passport issues

Super Eagles defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe is top among three key players of Warri Wolves who sit out action when the Seasiders tackle Dedebit of Ethiopia in this weekend’s CAF Confederation Cup first round return leg match in Addis Ababa.

Egwuekwe suffered an undisclosed injury which ruled him out of the crucial match.

Also to miss the match are striker Onyekachi Okafor and goalkeeper Okiemute Odah. The duo were denied entry visas to Ethiopia by the Ethiopian Embassy because their international passports fell short of the mandatory six month expiry date.

According Etu Moses, Media Manager of the club who also fell victim of the passport problem, the affected players passports were rejected by the embassy on the pretext that the passports validity is not up to six months.

In a brief statement made to the media late Wednesday night by the Media Manager, goalkeeper Tega Iriose has been called up as a replacement for Okiemute Odah who was in goal in the first leg in Warri which ended 2-0 in favour of Warri Wolves.

The team will also miss the services of Captain Azubuike Egwuekwe who is nursing a slight injury but the team will have the following players available. They are Daniel Akpeyi, Semiu Liadi, Joseph Eyimofe, Goodluck Onamado, Gbolahan Salami, Abu Azeez, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu among others.
