–Eagles defender clears air on West Ham link
By Sab Osuji:
Nigeria defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe has revealed why he rejected a loan deal offered him by Israeli top side, Hapoel Tel Aviv just as the Warri Wolves and Super Eagles center-back disclosed he never traveled to English Premier League side, West Ham United as was earlier suggested in the media.
“It was not a monetary issue, it is just that Hapoel Tel Aviv said the player they wanted me to replace did not leave the club as they expected so, I should instead play on loan for them which I rejected”, Egwuekwe said.
The Super Eagles defender added that since he is still a bona-fide player of Warri Wolves, he had to return home to continue his career on the domestic front while waiting to see the out-come of other transfer opportunities for him.
The 25-year-old, capped 34, with two goals, had been linked with a move to West Ham United, an English Premier League side with reports suggesting he was at the Barclays Premier League club for talks and possible medicals prior to a deal.
“I did not go to West Ham. I’ve heard and read so much about me going to West Ham among other clubs. I was even told there were pictures of me with some West Ham officials at their club.
“I don’t know how or where all these are coming from. But truth is that like I said earlier, there are some offers and I’ve to wait and see what God will bring”, Egwuekwe said.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
