The Egyptian Football Association have given coach Hector Cuper a two-match ultimatum, warning him to either beat Super Eagles of Nigeria or face the sack, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

In a sudden twist to the body’s unalloyed support to the Argentine manager, EFA rose from their meeting on Monday in Cairo, threatening to give Cuper the boot should Egypt fail to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations slated for Gabon.

Completesportsnigeria.com sources in Cairo revealed that EFA chiefs were miffed by the team's poor performance against Burkina Faso, although the Pharaohs won 2-0 in Alexandria.

“Cuper has been given a  two-match ultimatum by the Egyptian Football Association," our source said. “He has been told to beat Nigeria and ensure Egypt qualify for Gabon 2017 or face dismissal.

“EFA chiefs were not impressed with the team’s performance against Burkina Faso and have warned Cuper to shape up and pick valuable points in Kaduna and Alexandria, if he hopes to retain his job.”

Cuper’s terms of contract demand that Egypt qualify for AFCON which they have won a record six times. Egypt last qualified for AFCON in Angola 2010.

The Pharaohs lead Group G with six points from two games, while Nigeria are second with four points from the same number of games.
