Ahead of Tuesday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Egypt and Nigeria in Alexandria, the executive board of the Egyptian Football Association has been dissolved.
According to ahram.org, the decision was taken by a court ruling on Sunday over suspected rigging of 2012 elections.
It is believed the verdict is final and cannot be appealed.
The case dates back to a lawsuit filed in 2013 by the president of the second division football team Bani Ebeid, Hermas Radwan, challenging the integrity of the voting process in the association’s 2012 elections.
The regular four-year elections of a new board are set to take place in September 2016.
The current Executive Director of the Board Tharwat Sweilam is expected to direct the association till September.

I cannot fathom the rational behind taking a game of this magnitude talking about the first leg to a high humidity venue as Kaduna.You could see how fagged out the Super Eagles were at the first half of the match making it difficult for them to stamp their home advantag dominance over the Egyptians.
Now we talk about going away to pull a surprise. Kaduna was like playing away from home. I appreciate the crowd but that is not all it takes to win a match. One will be quick to challenge me to say that these players are Nigerians playing here before, but it is not easy when you have aadapted to Western climate and you come back to play at your best in such a hot environment. I wish them the best result as to winning the game but it may be a mirage and won’t be surprise at that.
