Hapoel Be’er Sheva of Israel and Nigeria goalkeeper, Austin Ejide has revealed his delight on the prospect of his club making a return to the Europes second tier club competition, Europa League.
“Yeah, we’re there last year but did not make much impact but I hope we can do better now if we get there again”, Ejide told Complete Sports from his base on Sunday.
Hapoel Be’er Sheva are second on the table behind Maccabi Tel Aviv and were at home Sunday against Maccabi Haifa in a Super League clash at Arthur Vasemil Stadium.
“We’re working hard to ensure we finished in a strong position that can earn us a ticket to return to the European championship.”
The former Bastia of France shot-stopper is not also losing sight of events on the home front as he took time off to pour praises on Nigeria’s president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari as well as Nigerians following a succesful conduct of the general elections.
“I’m happy the elections went smoothly, there were tensions before the polls and every one was apprehensive.
“I salute Nigerians for ensuring a peaceful elections and I must commend the President- elect for his success at the polls,” Ejide stressed.
