…Eagles keeper to rejoin Israeli side in Poland later
Super Eagles second choice goalkeeper, Austine Ejide will arrive in the United States of America this morning where he’s expected to spend a few days with his family before rejoining his Israeli club, Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Poland where they are undergoing pre-season training ahead their UEFA Europa League play-off.
Ejide departed Brazil Tuesday evening after the entire Super Eagles contingent was slated to head back to Nigeria following their 2-0 defeat by France in the Round of 16 World Cup tie on Monday.
“We did our best at the World Cup but unfortunately we could not get past France. We’re however happy with the support Nigerians gave us. We can’t thank them enough”, the former Bastia of France stopper said.
“Now, I want to go and see my family in the USA. I want to catch some rest before joining my club in Poland where we’re holding our pre season camping.
“I also want to see my new born baby who was delivered few days before we left camp for the World Cup”, Ejide said while commending his colleagues for a good showing at the World Cup finals in Brazil.
