Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong has dedicated the country’s 2-0 victory over Iceland in the Group D 2018 World Cup game played on Friday in Volgograd to the generality of Nigerians who supported the team.

The Super Eagles defeated Iceland 2-0 with a brace from Ahmed Musa who entered the record books as the first Nigeria to score in two different World Cup editions following his heroics against Argentina in 2014.

Ekong who was on the pitch all through the 90minutes of the game took to his twitter handle to dedicate the victory to Nigerians and look forward to their next Group D match.

weldone super eagle for wonderful job against Iceland. but work on your tactics against Argentina that always assumed they can beat SE anyday or anytime. mind you, your game against Argentina is like a world cup final, work hard and be technical against them so that Nihgeria defeated iceland shall not be in vain.  up super eagle.

  • Argentina celebrated Nigeria’s victory as though their own team won the world cup. They now think that Tuesday’s game against Nigeria would be a walk in the park for them. They have a little surprise coming. I really hope there will be no biased refereeing in favor of Argentina. I expect Musa, Iheanacho or Iwobi to rise to the occasion. Good luck guys!
