–Eagles defender assures on improved performance against Sudan
Super Eagles left-back Elderson Echiejile has stated that the team has put the 1-0 defeat to Sudan behind them and are focused on winning Wednesday’s game at the Abuja National Stadium.
Echiejile featured for 90 minutes for the Eagles as they slumped to a surprised loss to Sudan on Saturday inside the Municipal Stadium in Khartoum and the Monaco of France defender is expected to start the return leg match tomorrow.
“Wishing you guys a great week. Putting the past behind and focusing on the game on Wednesday,” he wrote on his twitter page.
The Eagles are bottom of group A with just one point from three games and must beat Sudan to still stand any chance of defending their title at next year’s AFCON in Morocco.
Meanwhile, South Africa are top with seven points with Congo occupying the second spot with six points.
It would be recalled that South Africa snatched a surprised 2-0 away victory against Congo on Saturday.
