Elliott Reassesses Tiger Roll’s Plans

Tiger Roll memorably won the Aintree showpiece in April after previous high-profile victories at the Festival in both 2017 and 2018.

The eight-year-old was back over Cheltenham’s cross country fences in November when finishing fourth behind Josies Orders and it was thought Elliott was going to send him back to Prestbury Park this weekend.

However, the handler has decided against running his stable star who would have carried top weight, and will look elsewhere for a prep run before March’s Festival.

“We decided against running Tiger Roll with top weight,” he told The Telegraph. “He’ll have one run in a conventional chase somewhere before he goes back for the cross country at the Festival.”
