Turkish Premier League side, Fenerbahce have retained Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, after the club decided to release some of their senior players.
Emenike who did not enjoyed his stay in Turkey last season due to fans row, will now be one the players the team will be banking on in the new season.
According to turkish-football.com, five key players were released at the end of the season and the Super Eagles was lucky enough to be retained by the club.
The statement read: “Fenerbahce sports club will not extend the contracts of Selçuk Sahin, Bekir Irtegün, Egemen Korkmaz, Mert Günok and Pierre Webo."
Reaction from the club also stated that:”We would like to thank all five players for their services to the club and wish them all the best in the future.”
It would be recalled that the Nigeria international has been linked with several clubs but yet to make decision about his future.
Meanwhile, Emenike who was not part of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad in Kaduna last weekend recently lost his father.
