Fenerbahce forward Emmanuel Emenike risks being banned from Sunday's crunch clash against Besiktas after he was spotted by cameras allegedly insulting an opponent, Ali Yacoubi – Tunisia international, in last weekend's 2-1 win over Rizespor in the Turkish League, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Emenike who made his first appearance for the Fenerbahce in 2017 was spotted by cameras during the game covering his nose and sniffing at Yacoubi in the closing stages of the nervy win.
The 29 year old's reaction has since prompted Rizespor fans calling on the Turkish Super Lig to ban him from featuring against Besitkas this weekend according to a report on Turkish daily, Haberturk.
But the General Secretary of Fenerbahce, Mahmut Uslu responded by saying Emenike committed no offence.
"We did not see anything and we won't make any comment on the reported incident involving Emenike and Yacoubi," Uslu told Haberturk
"We will respond if any sanction is made. The Besiktas derby is more than match."
Third place Fenerbahce face current league leaders, Besiktas in a derby next Sunday.
