–After winning Turkish Super Cup
Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has hailed the fans of the Yellow Canaries for the massive support they got defeating rivals Galatasaray 3-2 on penalties to win the 2014 Turkish Super Cup in a game that saw the stadium filled with drama.
The 27-year old forward who was one of the eight players booked in the ill tempered encounter wrote; “Thanks to all the fans of Fenerbache. We are happy we at least won.” The Nigerian striker wrote on his instagram wall.
For former assistant coach İsmail Kartal, who took over the Fener helm following the recent departure of Ersun Yanal, Monday’s victory was a very good beginning.
Emenike is expected to lead Fenerbache’s attack when they host Karabukspor in the Super Lig opener on Sunday.
He is one of the 23 players called up by Coach Stephen Keshi for next month’s African Nations Cup qualifier against Congo and South Africa.
Last season, the Nigeria international fired 13 goals to help crown Fenerbache champions of Turkey again.
