South Africa's ABSA Premiership side, Orlando Pirates, have completed the signing of Nigerian goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Daniel linked up with the Bucs from Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enugu Rangers.
The Rio 2016 Olympics Games silver medalist initially joined the Buccaneers on trial during the January transfer window.
He was particularly impressive during a friendly game against National First Division outfit, Black Leopards.
“(Mamelodi) Sundowns was the first PSL club that showed
interest in the player. But Pirates were quick to sign him," a club source informed Soccerladuma.co.za. "He is a very good goalkeeper that will add value at Pirates.”
Pirates according to reports, are currently enduring a goalkeeping crisis with first choice goalkeeper, Brighton Mhlongo struggling with injury, while second choice goalie, Jackson Mabokgwane, is serving a suspension.
It remains to be seen if Bucs will successfully register the
shot-stopper in time for Saturday’s game against Cape Town City.
