Enyeama Concedes Two Against Rampant Saint Etienne

Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama who is on the threshold of a century of caps for Nigeria in this week’s international friendly against Uganda on Sunday conceded two goals against Saint Etienne in a Ligue 1 game.

Lille finished the game with 10 men and had some decent defensive showing but were unable to contain Ivorian star Max Gradel who starred at the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

The Ivorian scored both goals at Enyeama’s expense when he controlled a cross from the right and turned away from his marker before powering a shot into the top corner of Enyeama’s goal from the middle of the 18 area.

Enyeama’s heroics has helped Lille to three straight wins in a row keeping two clean sheets but could not keep up with that impressive statistics as they targeted their fourth consecutive win at the 37,587-capacity Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

The 2015 Africa Nations Cup winner with Cote d’Ivoire, Gradel, doubled his side’s lead 15 minutes from full time when he hammered the ball home from close range following a set piece.

The result brings to an end Lille’s run of three straight wins in Ligue 1. It now takes Gradel’s Saint-Etienne above Monaco and into fourth place in Ligue 1.

The win helps Saint-Etienne in their push for a UEFA Champions League place and end Lille’s run of three straight wins in Ligue 1.
