Enyeama Falls To PSG As Ndidi Shines

Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, was in goal for Lille Metropole in their 1-0 loss at home to 10-man PSG in the opening day of the French Ligue 1.

The game which had Adrien Rabiot sent off for a second bookable offence in the 28th minute, saw Brazilian forward Lucas Moura grabbing the only goal on 57 minutes.

Lille’s next game is another tough one as they will be guest to AS Monaco on Friday 14th August, at the Stade Louis II.

In Slovania, Blessing Eleke was on target for Gorica in their 3-2 away win against Celje.

Eleke equalized for Gorica in the 19th minute after Erico Sousa had put Celje ahead. Other scorers for Gorica are Amel Dzuzdanovic and Marko Nunic.

While in Belgium, Flying Eagles World Cup defender Wilfred Ndidi featured for Genk but couldn’t inspire them to victory as they held home side Zulte-Waregem to a 0-0 draw. His Nigerian team-mate, Kim Ojo, was not listed for the game.
Another Nigerian-born star, Chuks Aneke, was in action in the Belgian Pro League match.

Aneke made the first attempt to score in Friday night’s game when he blazed his shot over the bar from the edge of the box in the first 10 minutes of the game.

In the second half, Aneke unleashed two powerful shots, the first missing target by whisker and the second saved by Genk’s goalkeeper, Koteles.

Ndidi was deployed at the right back position and he too had a good game.

Ndidi was however lucky not to have given away a penalty in the Genk box when he brought down an opponent in the 14th minute.
