Enyeama: I Won’t Beg To Play For Super Eagles

By Adeboye Amosu:

Embattled Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, says he will not walk away from the team, while insisting that he is not prepared to beg to be in the side, despite falling out with coach Sunday Oliseh.

Enyeama and Oliseh clashed at the team's Vievers  hotel camp in Belgium on  Tuesday with the latter allegedly asking the goalie to be forcibly ejected from the hotel by security operatives.

The Lille of France shot stopper however said even though he is not happy with the way he was treated by the coach, he is not going to walk away from the team.

"He took a decision about the captaincy, he said he is building a team for the future and that how's it is," Enyeama told Brila FM on Thursday morning.

"I will not walk away from the team but I wouldn't want to be treated like a beggar, I'm not begging to play football.

"I was embarrassed, thrown out, but Amaju Pinnick (NFF President) is the reason why I'm still in camp. When he comes to camp we will reach  a decision."

The former Enyimba goalie also disclosed he has no problem with the coach appointing Ahmed Musa as the new skipper of the side, but he is not prepared to sit on the bench.

"Ahmed is a great guy, I don't have a problem with the captaincy. After 13 years I'm told to leave the camp, but it's enough.

"After 13 years of serving, I won't sit on the bench, stripped of the captaincy. The coach he doesn't want me but I respect him."

What else you uncle Sunday want Enyeama to do again? We can see the level of understanding of Enyeama now, that shows that he’s a good leader indeed. Uncle Sunday Olishe, don’t start the war you can’t finished. You should realize that if you fight against the Captain of the team, you fighting all the entire team and they will bite you to finish. After this week matches, Nigerians will show you who they are. Remembered what they did to you back in 2002? Finger crossed. God bless Nigeria!

  • In this, I am supporting Oliseh all the way. If I am Enyeama I will maintain a dignified silence. In that way you would have won the psychological war. Ranting and wimping will not help your case. Remember Petr Cech? When one little kid was brought from Atletico Madril, he did not go about talking and talking but he maintained an honorable silence that for a long time he will be respected for. He was bench. He remained benched except for some FA Cup match or so. If you are staying stay. If you want to go, go!!!! No need wimping. Move in with your life and stop disrupting the camp. Ofcourse the press are having a field day. Feed them.
