Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama could not make the illustrous list of players nominated for the 2014 World Cup best goalkeeper’s award.
Despite coming fourth in the Guardian newspaper’s (UK) ranking of the first choice keepers of the 32 nations that participated in the 2014 World Cup which comes to a dramatic end on Sunday, Enyeama who had a an impressive outing at the World Cup could not make the cut for the three best goal minders.
FIFA has announced the three nominees for the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper and they are: Germany’s Manuel Neuer, Sergio Romero of Argentina and Costa Rica keeper Keylor Navas.
Enyeama was in impressive form at the World Cup where he pulled some world class saves, though he was deemed to be at fault for France’s first goal in a 2-0 defeat at the Round of 16 stage as well as Argentina’s goal in the group stage scored by Lionel Messi from a free-kick.
