–On CAF Champions League challenge
By Izuchukwu Okosi:
Enyimba assistant coach Napoleon Aloma lavished praises on the club’s players who defeated Dolphins 2-1 in the final of the 2014 Federation Cup on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium and has challenged them to go for the club’s third CAF Champions League title.
The Peoples’ Elephants won their fourth Federation Cup title and will join Kano Pillars in representing Nigeria in the next season’s CAF Champions League.
Aloma spoke to CompleteSportsnigeria.com after the game.
“The players did the people of Abia State proud. They will be be playing for the country in the Champions League.
“Admittedly, it will be a tough task to replicate the feats achieved in 2003 and 2004, but this present set of players have shown hunger and desire. They are good players.
The former Warri Wolves coach admitted that Dolphins were clearly the better side in the first half of the game.
“Yes, Dolphins had most of the possession in the first half of the game but the players knew that they must not let their opponents continue to dominate the game. So we are happy they took the fight to Dolphins.
“The attention is now on having a good campaign on the continent,” the veteran coach said.
