Enyimba Battle To Stay Top As Wolves Face Lobi

By Adeboye Amosu:

Enyimba have a chance to hold on to top spot in the Glo Premier League with their rivals facing tricky away games in Wednesday's match day 35 fixtures.

The former African champions who enjoy a three point lead over second-placed Warri Wolves will welcome relegation-haunted Kwara United to the Enyimba Sports Stadium.

The Peoples Elephant won the reverse fixture 3-2 in Ilorin earlier in the season and look good to do the double over the Harmony Boys.

Enyimba will welcome back goalkeeper Olufemi Thomas, Idris Aloma and Ezekiel Bassey who missed the week 34 fixture against Nasarawa United due to national team engagement.

Warri Wolves who will  be desperate to keep in touch with the Aba-based outfit will travel to Makurdi where they will be guests of Lobi Stars.
Defeat for the Seasiders could derail their title aspirations, while the home side too will be out for a win to ease their relegation worries.

The Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos will host the  Giwa FC versus Wikki Tourists clash. Both sides are on the same points with Wikki having  a better goal difference to their northern rivals.

Wikki are third on the log, while Giwa FC are fourth.

Akwa United will test their might against Sunshine Stars at the Godswil Apkabio Stadium, Uyo.The home side who have struggled in recent outings must win the tie to boost their survival hopes.

Defending Champions Kano Pillars and Rangers will clash in Kano. Both sides have little to play for as they are not in the hunt for the title or in the fight to beat the drop.

3SC coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, will lead his charges against his former side Sharks in Port Harcourt. Interestingly, the opposition coach, Festus Allen, has also worked with 3SC in the past.

FC Taraba and Nasarawa United will clash in a battle between two northern foes in Jalingo, while Dolphins and El-Kanemi will do battle at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Oriental sides, Ifeanyi Ubah and Heartland, will clash in Nnewi in the last game of the midweek.
