Enyimba, Ifeanyi Ubah Clash In Oriental Derby

–3SC in Wolves den; Sunshine face Heartland

By Adeboye Amosu:

Match day 27 of the Glo Premier League will see some tantalizing fixtures as teams jostle for points across different centres on Wednesday.

Leaders Enyimba have a chance to consolidate their position at the top of the log when they host Orientals rivals, Ifeanyi Ubah at the Enyimba Sports Stadium.

The Peoples Elephant have struggled at home against their eastern neighbours this term. They were recently held to a draw by Abia Warriors and Rangers.

Enyimba also seem to have struggled to get going in the absence of their top hitman Christain  Obiozor who  is out till the end of the month.

Enyimba coach, Kadiri Ikhana  will hope last season's top scorer Mfon Udoh rediscover his form to help his  side's title charge.

Sunshine Stars will confront Heartland in another heavyweight clash in Akure without two of their; regular stars, goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and reliable midfeilder Prince Aggrey who are in the Super Eagles camp in Abuja preparing for this weekend's 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.

The Owena Waves are the only team yet to drop points at home  in the top flight this season, but face a massive task against a Heartland side who are poised to dent that record.

Warri City Stadium will host the Warri Wolves versus Shooting Stars clash. 3SC have won their last two fixtures, but were totally annihilated 4-1 by Kano Pillars in their last away tie.

The Oluyole warlords will look to Sunday Adeniji, their in-form forward who has scored three goals in his last two games to deliver the goods once again.

High flying Wikki Tourists, the side with the second best away record in the league this season will confront Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.

At the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, FC Taraba and Sharks, two sides  who are battling to escape the drop will seek to boost their survival hopes when
they clash in one of the match day 27 fixtures.

Bayelsa United, the only side yet to record a win in the second stanza have a chance to end that drought when they entertain Giwa FC at the Oghara Stadium.

Abia Warriors will keep a date with Nasarawa United in Umuahia, while Akwa United will tackle El-Kanemi Warriors in Uyo.

Dolphins have another chance to boost their survival hopes when they confront Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
